FEHMARN is known to surfers as the “Hawaii” of the Baltic Sea because the best spots in the entire country are located here. Up to 20 spots offer appropriate conditions for every wind direction and every level of skill. Altenteil, for example, is ideal for jumping and surfing as the waves can reach heights of up to 2,5 m.

In Hörnum, on the southern tip of the resort island of Sylt, the GOLFCLUB BUDERSAND SYLT, Germany’s first genuine left handed golf course, opened in the middle of July 2008 with the five star golf hotel to follow in the spring of 2009. The 18-hole course, which has a Scottish design, embedded in the sand dunes and moorland, is situated directly on the North Sea coast – with a view of the ever-changing Wadden sea and the North Frisian Islands Föhr and Amrum.
